“What was the most important aspect for you two when planning your wedding?”
I had the honor of photographing Sarah and Andrew’s wedding day at the beautiful Brique Chicago in the west loop area. It would be, as I came to find out that day, one of the last weddings at that location as they will be opening their new property in Winnetka in 2020. I was sad to hear it as the venue was so unique and absolutely perfect for couples like Sarah and Andrew…looking for a smaller space and simple taste. But that word, simple, just doesn’t seem to measure up to the overall feel of their day. Having just met them (finally, I might add) only two days prior for their engagement session, I arrived beyond excited to witness their plans come to life.
With the amazing help from their wonderful event planner, An Event Less Ordinary, gorgeous floral details by Flowers for Dreams, and delicious food from Boutique Bites, Sarah and Andrew’s wedding was such a joy to photograph. Their ceremony was set up against a gorgeous white backdrop with candles lining the entire aisle up throughout the shelves on the wall. Then, as the room was flipped to accommodate their guests for dinner, all the details were placed so simply, but to a point that I could not stop photographing them. 🙂
If you remember their blog post from their engagement session, I spent almost 3 hours with them photographing them around Museum Campus. I did so because we were having so much fun and it was a gorgeous Fall afternoon. But even more so, because I knew we would have limited time for portraits between their ceremony and reception. The greatest thing about Sarah and Andrew? They were up for anything. If I asked for a few more pictures, they obliged. When I saw it was still nice out later on and thought it might be a good idea to take advantage, they followed me outside for even more pictures. They were so easy going and the sweetest couple. I’m beyond thrilled to share their day on the blog!
