Meeting Patrice and Peter was such a fun experience. We started their engagement session out having a glass of wine on Chicago’s river walk and they told me how wedding planning was going. I immediately felt as though we had been friends for years. They are the sweetest couple and when they talk about each other, they light up.
Their wedding day was so much fun. We would start out downtown at the JW Marriott for their first look, headed all throughout the city for pictures, watched them officially say I DO at the beautiful Old St. Patrick’s Church, and finally headed out to Flossmoor’s Country Club to dance the night away. We had a perfectly sunny day with a BIG wedding party, and throughout all the travel to and from, Peter and Patrice never stopped smiling. We took so many pictures with the ladies and guys together, and classic wedding party group pictures by the Board of Trade and Wrigley Building downtown. As we made our way to the church, I couldn’t stop scrolling through all the pictures already taken on my camera. This was such a fun group!
Walking into their reception at Flossmoor County Club was a gorgeous site. Debbie Helsel of GreenLeaf Florist did an outstanding job on their florals, and the cake by Creative Cakes was a site to see. We had one beautiful room for their dinner celebration, and shortly after, made our way down the hall to the dance floor partying the night away with the unforgettable Andrew Blake Band. When asked what the most important concept to them when planning their wedding, Peter and Patrice answered “We wanted our friends and family to feel welcomed, included, and have a great time!”
We all did and then some! 😉

READ A LITTLE ABOUT PATRICE & PETER :
Q. When did you meet? Where? Pete and Patrice met at Marian Catholic high school. They enjoyed time together in classes, at sporting events, and even dances. Although they were frequently together, it was not because they were dating each other. They dated each other’s good friends! After going their separate ways, graduating college, and starting their adult lives, Pete and Patrice reconnected downtown. Luckily, their previous friendship allowed them to quickly develop a relationship!
Q. When did you get engaged? Where? Pete was very excited to propose to Patrice at their favorite restaurant
downtown. However, Pete’s plan did not go as expected. Pete and Patrice were leaving on vacation, Patrice was busy packing and was adamant about NOT going out to dinner on this evening in March. Pete had to secretly call the restaurant multiple times to reschedule in hopes that the engagement would happen. After many, many attempts to get Patrice to go to dinner, Pete proposed to Patrice in their living room! After, the shocking proposal, they FINALLY went to Beacon Tavern to celebrate.
Q. How did you start your wedding planning process?
We did not utilize a wedding planner, we “self-planned” through advice from family, friends, and referrals!
Q. How did you choose your wedding venue?
Pete grew up going to Flossmoor Country Club and has many fond memories there. Also, we wanted a location that was close for our family and friends.
Q. What was your favorite thing about your wedding day?
Spending time with our loved ones and dancing the night away!
Q. What was your first dance song?
Pete and Patrice: Billy Joel, She’s got a way
Patrice and Dad: Frank Sinatra, The Way You Look Tonight
Pete and Mom: Louie Armstrong, What a Wonderful World
Q. Where did you go for your honeymoon?
we are still deciding….
Q. Can you give any advice for future couples planning a wedding?
Before including anyone else in the process, sit down with your significant other and decide what is important for each of you.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING!
Now enjoy their story…
Thank you Patrice and Peter for the most amazingly fun day!
I wish you both so much happiness and MANY more days of dancing and smiling non-stop like this one! 😉
Thank you to my lovely 2nd Jamie for all of your help!
