Lauren + Jack : Palmer House Chicago Wedding

A big and beautiful wedding party, a gorgeous and happy couple, and one VERY hot June day.  This is Lauren & Jack’s wedding.

Q.  When did you meet?  Where?

A. We technically met in grade school. We did not become friends until high school then lost touch once we went off to college.

Q.  When did you get engaged? Where?

A. Coranado Island off of San Diego in March 2017.

Q.  How did the proposal happen?

A. Lauren was in San Diego for work and thought she was meeting her brother, Joey, who was stationed in the Navy on Coranado. Instead, Jack surprised her by showing up to dinner with a ring.

Q. What’s one thing about your spouse that made you realize you wanted to marry them?

A. We could travel together for a long period of time and not want to kill each other by the end of the trip. (LOL love this one!)

Q.  What was the most important aspect for you two when planning your wedding?

A.  Throwing a great party for all our friends and family

Q. How did you choose your wedding venue(s)?
A. We had a fairly large wedding so were limited on venue options. Jack also has a lot of family from out of state so a hotel was definitely ideal. Ultimately we chose a place that had a nice big open room with a great dance floor.
Q.  What was your favorite thing about your wedding day?

A.  The moment pictures were over (KIDDING – but seriously it was so hot…). The speeches and the dancing. (HA! Seriously though, that day was ridiculously HOT! You were all amazing!)

Q. What were the first dance songs?

A. Newlyweds – Always Be My Baby (Anderson East cover version)
Father/Daughter – Forever Young (Rhiannon Giddeon & Iron and Wine)
Mother/Son – Into the Mystic (Van Morrison)

Q. Where did you (or plan to) go for your honeymoon?

A. Vietnam, Cambodia & Hong Kong.

Q.  Can you give any advice for future couples planning a wedding?

A.  Stay with your spouse as much as you can at the reception – it flies by!

I’m so excited to feature this day with you all! I promise, when you ask any other photographer about this date, we will ALL remember just how hot it was.  The temperature kept changing from 90 and up, but that heat and humidity made it feel like 100+++.  It was nuts!  I have to say though, this couple and this wedding party were OUTSTANDING!!! If this was me having to run around and stand in the sun and SMILE in this heat, I’m not sure I could have done it.  But not this group.  They all smiled and made one of the most unbearable days fun!

Thank you all for being troopers ALL day and for getting these photos done FAST so we could enjoy the AC. 😉

Now, a look back at Lauren and Jack’s Fall engagement session where we started at the same venue they would soon get married at : Palmer House.  They were so much fun to photograph then, and even more so on their wedding day.  Cheers to you two and the best day EVER! <3

So amazing! We went outside for a hot second…literally…to get a few pictures of all the lovely ladies.  But immediately back in to the AC we went!Meanwhile at the Palmer House…Jack looks so happy! Love it!After getting ready downtown, they guys hopped in Uber’s and headed to meet the ladies at the church. Finally seeing each other! 🙂Such a gorgeous church! They were all smiles during their vows. So sweet!Officially married and up into the school we went to take a picture in the hallway they both walked through as kids.  Lauren’s locker was just to the left!

So fun!

Downtown we went and into the blazing hot sun for pictures…Seriously guys, I can’t express how hot this day was, but this group was AMAZING for standing in that sun!92 at the end of June. When Liz tells you to put your heads together but you are REALLY sweaty. LOL!
And finally back to the Palmer House for a few more pictures before the reception.
One of my favorites on the left! <3 <3 <3 Ready to dance the night away! The ballroom was GORGEOUS! Along with all of the amazing details. MR. & MRS.! So fun that they were announced from the balcony. These were some of the sweetest and funniest speeches.  Lauren and Jack were both laughing so hard the entire night. 🙂Balcony views before the first dance…<3 <3 <3 You two are just adorable!LET’S DAAAAAAANCE!This wedding was so much fun and there were so many people on the dance floor all night.  The way it should be! Loved it!
