Katie and Lucas happened to be my last engagement session this past Fall, and to say we had fun would be quite an understatement. These two beautiful people traveled from their home in Boston to meet me for pictures so come cold, rain, or wind, these pictures were happening!
They met in Chicago, so they knew the weather could be unpredictable, but this is why we always have a backup plan. We originally planned to take ‘just a few‘ pictures over by the Adler Planetarium so they could get their skyline shot. Afterwards, we would head to the Art Institute to warm up and finish their session.
But to our surprise, the sun showed up and the wind wasn’t too bad, so we ended up staying a while and having a blast. These two were naturals in front of the camera and were so comfortable with each other. They made my job extremely easy and I couldn’t stop smiling. <3
This picture was literally within the first 10 frames. They made each other laugh so easily and it was the cutest!
(My direction was also taken VERY literally here, ha!) You two are the best!)
Some of the best pictures to me are the in-between ones where they are thinking over how to enact the crazy directions I just gave them. Sometimes, the ‘figuring it out picture‘ IS the best picture. It’s also really fun watching couples work together to make sure they ‘get it right‘. 😉
Those smiles!!! 🙂
I will forever call this image : ‘Waiting for Liz’s directions‘.
And then I will call this : ‘Processing Liz’s directions‘.
And this montage will be called : ‘Enacting Liz’s directions‘. HA!
We got some great sunshine that day!
I’ll never get sick of that beautiful skyline. <3 <3 <3
A little ride over to the Museum and a quick outfit change later…
I think we were all happy to be indoors for a while.
I love exploring the museum with my couples.
And making them laugh. 😉
Can we take a second and talk about these shoes and their color choice?
LOVE THE BLUE!
It’s not ALL posing. Sometimes, walking around and taking in all the art is fun to photograph as well!
The waiting process. We are in a museum folks. There are people EVERYWHERE! The key is to be VERY patient.
Be the art, become one with the art. HA!
You two are so much fun! Thanks for being silly with me.
Also, remember when we (and by we I mean Lucas) triggered the alarm here? LOL! OOPS! 😉
A closer skyline view. <3
And a dinosaur view. 🙂
Love this beautiful museum!
One of the most populated spots, ALWAYS, but a must stop.
Hey guys! I’m watching you! 😉
This painting, in particular, is one of my all time favorites.
WE DID IT!!!
Thank you both for such a fun afternoon! Honestly, you are the BEST!!! I cannot wait for your wedding day. Just think about how many silly moments we can recreate from your engagement session. 😉
Pick your favorites and I’ll see you soon.
I’ll be the one behind the camera yelling out directions while you try to process what they mean.
