Here we go again!
I can’t believe how much Lily has grown! I’ve been photographing this cutie around her birthday every year for the past few years with her family. We have always always met up in Winnemac Park on Chicago’s north side, one of my favorite parks actually. It’s just down the street from where I used to live in Lincoln Square and it’s always so full of big willow trees, colorful florals, and it’s very quiet and peaceful to walk in.
We met up on a day that didn’t have a lot of sunshine. However, it made all the greens stand out even more. And even better, Lily’s mom brought back bubbles! 🙂 I sound like I’m the one that got to play with them, but honestly I was so excited. We played with bubbles during one of their first shoots and I always loved those candid – in action – photos, so I was even more excited now that she was older and could interact even more.
Here’s last year’s session. <3
Needless to say, as you’ll just see as you scroll, Lily has warmed up to the camera over the years. She came riding up on her scooter (I totally want one of those!) and immediately starting running around. She was so excited to show me her new dress from her grandmother and tell me about her birthday party. <3
I love seeing how she interacts with her parents individually and as a family whole. This trio is always the best to photograph and every time I leave them, I can’t wait to go through their images.
This kid and her faces! Just love it!
I suggested that she make some wishes in the flower and then of course she wanted it as a hair accessory. 😉

We even got to include Susan’s parents again this year. I love that they have this tradition.
Family formals and RUN TOWARDS LIZ! HA!
And then it was BUBBLE TIME!!!!
I honestly don’t know who was having more fun, Dinu, Susan, Lily, OR ME?! 😉
I think Lily. 😉
Swinging in the willow trees. 🙂
The nature trails are beautiful to walk through, especially when you get to see cute wild life!
Thank you ALL again for such a wonderful afternoon. I truly love meeting up with you all every year and seeing how much Lily has changed. It’s been a beautiful past few years and I can’t wait for the next one!
