“A GREAT DAY TO FALL IN LOVE”
Christine & Riley created one VERY memorable wedding day. With pictures all over Chicago and a reception with a skyline view, their day was an honor to photograph. I first met these two over coffee and immediately became so excited when they told me about their venue (The Bridgeport Art Center). The fact that they got engaged there too made it all the more special. When I asked them where they would want their engagement session, they knew it had to be in Chicago. Their love for the beauty of Chicago was evident then, AND on this day. Why? They met in Chicago!
“We ‘swiped right’ in late July of 2014. Our first date was the day after Christine’s Mom’s Birthday, August 20th, 2014 at the Southern in Wicker Park (one of our favorite neighborhoods). Christine’s roommate/MOH/close friend dropped her off for our first date and told her it was a “great day to fall in love” with a hint of sarcasm (if you knew this friend, you would understand :)). We closed the restaurant down that night, which led to date number 2 and 3, and the rest is history.”
(Scroll down to the end to read how the proposal actually happened!) 😉

So to honor him, she had this pin attached to her gorgeous bouquet.I LOVED her loose curls!
And that perfect smile once the veil got placed. 🙂Champagne toasts to start out the day…The bridesmaids wore these gorgeous Fleur Black Cherry dresses from BHLDN.Then there was Christine’s amazingly detailed dress from Sottero and Midgley.🙂 🙂 🙂Riley scored big with this amazing gift : a Michael Kors handbag! The stunning bride. On our way to the river to see the guys!Meanwhile in the west loop at Christine & Riley’s place…Riley and the guys were finishing up their ties.So happy! 🙂Christine got Riley an awesome Skagen watch with a note reading :
“See you at noon. Love you.”
<3Dressed to impress, the guys made their way over to meet the ladies.Ha! They are having way too much fun! 😉See what I mean? LOL!Then it was time for the bride & groom’s first look on the river walk along the Chicago River.

They are just so happy to see each other.<3 <3 <3Love this! So happy and ready to get married. But first, we run around Chicago to take some fun pictures!

We had a TON of time for pictures…and Chicago traffic…and still time for more fun shots when we got to the venue early.ANOTHER AMAZING CHICAGO VIEW!
Originally, another wedding was supposed to be in this area outside.
But just our luck, it was open!
So we went!
Such a beautiful couple! We got access to some pretty cool spots throughout this Chicago venue.
THIS IS IN AN ELEVATOR!
So awesome! How fun are these?!The elevator that transports everyone up to the skyline loft is INCREDIBLE!And then you make your way to their ceremony spot…
BREATHTAKING!The detail was stunning. The ladies waited in this vintage room before the ceremony.Another perfect picture spot! And right before the ceremony, Christine had a sweet first look with her dad.The amazing views from the ceremony! From one room to another…Time for the ceremony and these kids got everyone smiling.<3 <3 <3Such a gorgeous setting to get married in.They hammered in a bottle of wine to be opened up together on a later anniversary. <3MARRIED!!!!
HAHA Love the look they gave each other – ‘Whoa! That just happened.’
🙂During cocktail hour, they transformed the ceremony into the reception with so many gorgeous details.MR. & MRS. WANCKET!!!They immediately shared their first dance as husband and wife. The head table was so pretty, centered in the middle of the room.LOVED all of these speeches – so many laughs.DANCE FLOOR OPEN!
Riley was ready to party! HA!So was everyone else! HAHA!These were some of the best garter/bouquet tosses EVER!Riley surprised EVERYONE, but most of all, Christine, during this. Her face was priceless. Complete shock.Loved everyone’s reactions in the background! LOL!This is hilarious! Before we headed out, we HAD to get a fun night shot with the lit up SKYLINE LOFT sign outside.
*A little about Christine & Riley*
Q. When did you get engaged? Where?
A. We got engaged on Halloween 2015 at the Bridgeport Art Center Skyline Loft – where we got married!
Q. How did the proposal happen?
A. We knew after just a few months that would be together for a long time. So we (mainly Christine) started doing some research about dream locations for a wedding. We found out about that one of the places we really liked, Bridgeport Art Center, had open times to come and walk the venue. Riley agreed to go and said it would be fun, but in reality he called the people at the venue and had planned to propose there while we were walking around. It was a cold and rainy day. The sales person took us around on a tour of the building, and stopped us near the window of the Skyline Loft. She said “I’ll be right back”, and that’s when Riley pulled Christine over and proposed. Christine said Yes, and then in celebration, her two friends who were hiding to take pictures came out, along with her parents. We were both in shock and so excited, we couldn’t finish the tour, and had to come back another time to actually look at the venue for our wedding.
Q.What was the most important aspect for you two when planning your wedding?
A. 1) Bring everyone together in the city where we met and fell in love
2) Put an event together that really showed who we are as a couple
3) Involving our families
Q. What was your favorite thing about your wedding day?
A. Christine: Making Riley and I ‘offish’ in front of all of our family and friends, having all of our favorite people under one roof, getting twirled and dipped by my husband during our first dance, and tearing up the dance floor with my white girl dance moves.
Riley: Seeing Christine for the first time during our first look, taking pictures all over the city, and our first dance to “to love somebody.”
Q. What were the first dance songs?
A. Riley and Christine: “To Love Somebody” by Michael Buble
Christine and FOB (Frank): “I Loved Her First” By LoneStar
Riley and MOG (Audrey): “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts
Q. If you could do it all over again, what would you change, if anything?
A. Riley: Nothing…except maybe Chicago traffic, but who wouldn’t.
Christine: It was such a fun day and it went so incredibly quickly. I wouldn’t change anything but wish I could remember every small detail from that day.
Q. Where did you (or plan to) go for your honeymoon?
A. The Cook Islands in the South Pacific!!!
Q. Can you give any advice for future couples planning a wedding?
A. DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!
Have dates to take breaks from wedding planning, just the two of you.
Use your wedding (and all that planning entails) as an opportunity to really show your style and how you and your significant other are as a couple.

I hope you enjoy your memories and I wish you so much happiness for all of your years to come.
Until our next shoot. 😉
