Becca + Jason : Winter wedding at the Patrick C. Haley Mansion

From the story of how they first met to how Jason proposed, this couple is one for the books! <3

When I first met with Becca & Jason during their engagement session, I knew their wedding would be a blast.

These two never stop smiling and when you are around them, you smile too.  Friends since childhood, these two sweethearts embody what it means to be happy and in love.

Flash forward to their wedding day, and we are met with a big snowfall.  By the time I met up with Jason and the guys, a good few inches had already accumulated.

Needless to say, this was for sure going to be a very WHITE WEDDING.

Here is the wedding of Becca & Jason.

{A little about Becca & Jason}

 1. When did you meet? Where?

We were neighbors when we were little and I (Becca) moved away when I was 6 to a different house and went to public schools while he went to private schools. Fast forward 15 years and we ran into each other at a local bar when we were twenty-one. Seven years and a wedding later- here we are! His parents have pictures of us kissing on the front porch when we were younger that we recreated on the wedding day.

2. When did you get engaged?

We got engaged February 18th, 2014 at our, then, condo in Tinley Park.

3. How did the proposal happen?

I got home from work and walked in to a trail of photos from our childhood up until the current day surrounded by candles and rose petals. When I got to the end there was a love letter surrounded by more rose petals and when I finished reading he was there down on one knee. I cried like a baby!

4. Wedding Venue :

Patrick C. Haley Mansion, Joliet, IL

5. Honeymoon :

We spent an amazing week in beautiful Costa Rica.

6. What was your favorite thing about your wedding day?

That all the stress and madness of planning was over and to see it all come together was probably my favorite part of the wedding. We had such a long engagement that it was tough to picture all our visions come alive and seeing it for the first time literally took our breath away. To see each other be so happy and see everyone come together to celebrate our love was a feeling we will never forget.

7. If you could do it all over again, what would you change, if anything?

If we did it all over again I think the only thing I would change would be how much I stressed over the little things! It may sound cliche, but our wedding day was the most perfect day, I would not change a single thing. The torrential snow storm may have upset some other people but for me, it was beautiful and made our day even more memorable.

8. What was your first dance song?

Our first dance was “Hold you in my arms” by Ray Lamontagne

9. Any advice for future couples?

It will all pay off in the end. Don’t waste your time on all the small details that no one but you will even notice.  And of course- ENJOY every minute of it.  No one could have prepared me for how fast it all went. Use your cocktail hour to mingle with everyone and say your hellos then enjoy the rest of the night.

10. 3 words to describe each other :

Jason is the most generous, caring, selfless person and I am lucky to call him my husband.

Now here is the adorable comparison from the same exact front porch…childhood to Wedding Day.

So cool to remake this photo!

Maria captured me in the snow here outside the church…ha!

I’ll go anywhere to get the shot! 😉  I look so happy! LOL!Can you spot Maria? HAHAHA
