Heeeeeeeey everybody! (This picture above was the very first shot I took of Eric as we started their pictures. I think it set the tone for the rest of the night.) 😉
I couldn’t have been more excited for my friends Audrey and Eric when they announced their engagement. I’ve known Aud since high school, and got to meet Eric last year at my best friend’s wedding in Chicago. Aud and I were both bridesmaids in it. Eric is the sweetest guy and the PERFECT partner for Audrey. They just seem to get one another in the best ways. After spending all weekend with them, I knew they would be nothing but happy…which makes me happy…because Audrey is the sweetest person! I just love you two together!
I knew their engagement meant a trip out to California very soon to celebrate with them. While I was out there, we got the most amazing sunset for their engagement session, had the best night out celebrating with friends, and enjoyed some delicious wines before I headed home. Scroll through to see some of my favorite moments from their session. All I can say is THAT LIGHT!!! <3 <3 <3 After this weekend, I’m going to need to make my way out to Cali a LOT more often.
But seriously guys, THAT LIGHT!!!
This was our walk to the beach that afternoon. It was like something out of a dream.
A lot of people had the same idea as us…walk along the pier and watch the sun set over the ocean.
So, into their pictures you all went! 😉
<3 <3 <3
Laughter and ocean views = 🙂
I’m telling you, I could not contain my excitement EVERYWHERE we went while I was visiting. I’ve only been to Cali a few times and each time it takes my breath away.
Eric grew up in California, and Audrey moved their a few years ago. Aud later told me that my excitement for the views on the beach and the palm trees, and sunset, and well, EVERYTHING CALIFORNIA, renewed their excitement for where they call home. I told them it’s probably the same feeling when people visit Chicago and see the skyline. You appreciate where you live even more so when you get to see the awe through visitor’s eyes.
Palm trees and happy people. This pretty much sums up the California life. 🙂
I dare you to look at these views and not feel peaceful. Go ahead, try.
After walking along the pier, we walked through the sand to watch the sun set over the water.
Cue the romantic music!
I can’t make these colors up…this afternoon was perfect. <3
You two are beautiful!
Oh hey guys, go stand at the water’s edge and see what happens….LOL!

Love these! You two are so much fun to photograph!
I could have photographed them all night with that view. It was perfect!
Can you spot the moon? Gah! What a gorgeous night! The next day we drove up into the mountains – past the Bachelor House…YES, the tv show The Bachelor! I had a slight freak out over reality celebrity sightings, lol! – and made our way to Malibu Wines for a tasting. But first, Liz spots a fun wall and makes you get out and smile in front of it. HA! 😉
A huge WINE sculpture – of course we got pictures with it!
Another sunny, gorgeous day. California, you are so predictable. 😉
Our drive home had amazing views. But the best view of all was of their sweet pup, Sherlock. <3
We of course added him into the pictures from the weekend!
A few family shots in front of the house = perfect. <3
Sherlock stealing the show! HA!

Aud, Eric…and Sherlock. THANK YOU for an unfrogettable weekend.
I had a blast celebrating with you both and I could not be more excited to watch you two get married next year! To many, MANY happy memories and adventures ahead my friends.
Sending you love always!
